Training

All County Commissioners are invited to attend weekend training events, which run three times per year.

Induction Weekends:

Whether you are a new County Commissioner or whether you have been with us for a while but have not yet attended this training, there is something for everyone. During the weekend you will have the opportunity to build you network, learn from other County Commissioners from different regions and attend workshops on a range of topics such as how to develop your vision for your county, building and leading your team, risk management, Being our best and an opportunity to hear from the Chief Guide.

Refresher Weekends:

Ideal for County Commissioners who have been in their role for two to three years or more. During the weekend you will have the opportunity to reflect on the work you have done so far, whilst also thinking about the future. There will be a variety of workshops designed specifically your role. These include sessions on succession planning, problem solving, strategic planning as well as the opportunity to build your network and share your successes and challenges with other County Commissioners from different regions.
