Please note that from 1 January 2016 the retirement section of the ‘Adults in guiding’ policy has been removed and members will be able to continue in the role of Leader beyond the age of 65. This also means that those who stepped back from their role as Leader when they turned 65 can now return and additionally those over 65 can be a residential Event Coordinator, included in adult:child ratios and complete the Going Away With Scheme.
Further reviews are still required for members aged 75. This is because of a change in the insurance cover provided, and reviews are carried out at a County level. The member will be asked to sign a document to confirm she understands the insurance policy restrictions applicable to her own personal accident cover.
